I was incredibly nervous going into this wedding season knowing that I was going to be just 8 weeks postpartum when the first wedding rolled around & I was not sure how the transition back into shooting on the weekends was going to go!? However, all my worries vanished as soon as I saw the rose gold details Nicole & Austin had picked out for Create A Scene to so beautifully put together. Cheyanne (my second shooter) & I spent a good part of our first hour being there taking it all in & dustin’ off the ole’ cameras with gorgeous detail shots. The florals made getting back into our grove so easy! All the wedding day feels came rushing back to me like I hadn’t just spent the last four months prepping for & becoming a mom. This May wedding was just what I needed to get my photographer mojo going, & I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple to spend it with. I am so thankful Nicole & Austin had me share in their special day, & I am even more thankful that they were beyond patient when dealing with my mom brain. (it’s a real thing, and I suffered from it a few times that day)
The mother of the bride shared a story with me about how Nicole had been to a wedding while in the middle of planning her own where the ceremony & reception were at same location and she loved! So that’s what she wanted too, & I have to say I have not seen a smoother transition from ceremony to celebration within the same room until this day. Usually there is all kinds of chaos, but between Five Points & Create a Scene the transformation was seamless. Due to the harsh lighting at the beginning of the day it made for some great backdrop for getting ready & bridal shots.
Later in the evening after all the special events had happened, I convinced the newly weds that we needed to sneak away to the park across the streetĀ just the four of us to get some yummy golden hours images, & I am so glad they thought it was a good idea too! It’s my all time favorite kind of lighting this time of year, & one of my favorite things to do with my bride & grooms. We were able to capture some really great romantic, & fun loving portraits escaping from the craziness that can be a wedding day. It’s nice to take breathe & soak in the fact that you are now husband & wife and these few tender moments while getting your portraits taken are the beginning of forever!
Nicole, Austin, & their loved ones are truly some of the kindest people you will meet, & kicking my 2018 wedding season off with them was better than this new mama could ask for!
