Genna & I are both Dee-Mack High School alum, so when I saw her name at the top of a inquiry contact form, I immediately went down memory lane thinking of all the times we would have passed each other in the halls, & thought about what classes we shared together. Fast forward in time, & I am sharing & preserving memories of the best day of her life. I don’t think the feeling of joy when people who have once been apart of my life, in what ever way it may be, choose ME to be responsible to capture moments of their wedding day!
Genna & Stephen’s elegant Game of Thrones day was so unique to who they are as a couple. The simplest of details hinted at the theme, making memories for the couple, & those apart of the celebration. My favorite detail were the bridesmaids lanterns! It took me a bit to get out of the habit of saying “Bouquet’s at your bellybuttons,” to the girls all day, but it was well worth the change!
I wouldn’t be doing this blog justice if I didn’t mention a moment from the day which not only made me smile but was a reminder of why I work so hard to continue to do what I love & serve my couples in telling their love stories. Right before Stephen walked his mom down the isle to her seat where she would witness him become a husband, she stopped him & whispered something to him followed by a moment of silence with their foreheads touching, & maybe even a few tears. I don’t know what words were exchanged, & frankly I don’t think I want to know. It would take away from the obvious importance of that moment for them, but for me I think it would take away from how capturing that moment filled me with reassurance that I was meant to be there that day to freeze those exact seconds of the beginning of Genna & Stephens’ life together.
What a humbling kick off to the 2017 wedding season!
