Daylight savings day, although hard to adjust to (especially with a toddler) is like Christmas morning for this photographer. I have had this day circled in my planner with a count down since the new year. I know we lost an hour, but we gained more daylight, which means more time to photograph couples in love, in yummy golden hour sunsets!! The first sunset did not let me down. I was chasing good light the whole session and it made my soul SOO happy!!
The perfect couple booked their e-sesh on this day with me – Sarah and Dalton are high school sweethearts, and we all walked the halls of Dee-Mack High School together. It makes me feel REAL old to say this but we have all been waiting ten for these two to tie the knot!! We reminisced over a photo of the two of them where Dalton was supporting Sarah during her basketball season sporting short shorts and a Dee-Mack jersey. It’s special memories like these that make me all the more excited to be apart of the next big chapter of their love story.
Dalton had us laughing the whole session with his shenanigans and Sarah’s loving patience with him was evident as usual. He wasn’t pulling a fast one by me though, I caught a few winks thrown his girls’ way, and a couple unprompted kisses on the head. Dalton may seem like a tough Mackinaw boy, but his love for Sarah is the sweetest love there is. He offered his hand to her every chance he got while we hiked his families land. (about put this mama in labor … ) They shared genuine moments of being in love with each other when they thought I wasn’t looking, but little did they know my finger was shutter button ready!!
I am so looking forward to their summer wedding in July at The Cannery in Eureka. It will be the perfect setting for these small town love birds to go from high school sweethearts to husband and wife.
