Being a small town girl myself I have a soft spot in my heart for MBE couples who start off sharing their love stories with “Well my parents live on this block, their parents live on this one, and we live on this block right over here…” In fact I met Kara & Zach for the first time in their home town of South Wilmington for their engagement session. They lovingly invited me to meet them at their home so that we could ride together to our locations. I also got to meet their sweet pups Max & Dixie, & I knew the connection between the couple & I would be effortless … because if you know me well enough you know I also have a soft spot of fur parents as well.
As we drove around quaint South Wilmington Kara & Zach showed me where each would be getting ready on the big day, how the church was within walking distance, & shared stories about the lifelong friends who would be standing next to them on up on the alter. As we talked through the wedding day I could tell that each decision had such meaning because they represented was who they were as a couple 100%, & as members of the town they grew up in. All I could think about on my drive back home was how I could not wait to see what a small town celebration had to offer, & my expectations were far beyond what I had hope for.
As Kara got ready at her parents house/childhood home, & Zach at the home he & Kara now shared, I knew right from the start of the day this small town, close knit wedding day would be an honor to be apart of and then some! Every member of the wedding party truly loved the couple, both families were over flowing with joy to see the couple become one, & the celebration was off the charts! By the end of the day I felt like I was apart of the day not only to capture the special meaning of what we were all there for that day, but as a guest soaking up the love that brought these two together to carry on South Wilmington traditions for a lifetime!
